From Etagnières to La Sarraz
This walk links the agricultural landscapes of the Gros-de-Vaud with the historic town of La Sarraz, passing through authentic Vaud countryside shaped by water and farming.
Starting from Etagnières, the route winds its way through fields and villages before reaching the banks of the Talent, the iconic river of the Gros-de-Vaud. Further on, the route also crosses the Entreroches Canal, a remnant of an ambitious 17th-century waterway project that once linked the Rhine and Rhône basins.
Throughout the walk, stunning panoramic views open up over the region’s rolling countryside, with the Jura and the Alps as a backdrop. The arrival in La Sarraz, dominated by its imposing castle and historic centre, brings this beautiful journey through nature, heritage and history to a close.Points of interest
